Beta privacy notice

Plain-English summary of what we store during the private beta.

Who you are to us

During the beta, you don't create an account. The first time you open the app we issue your browser an anonymous ID (a random UUID). That ID is the only thing tying your data to "you" — there's no email, name, address, or phone number unless you opt in to the email capture below.

What we store

  • Your Strava run history once you connect Strava: distance, duration, pace, heart rate, GPS-derived splits, laps, best efforts, and elevation. We also keep Strava's raw activity JSON to recompute reports if we improve the analysis.
  • Strava access tokens, encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM, so we can refresh your data.
  • Generated reports: archetype, limiter, AI-written narrative, weekly summaries.
  • Your preferences: units, running goal, weekly digest toggle.
  • Your email, only if you opt in via the "Stay in the loop" prompt.
  • Page views inside the app: which routes your browser visits, the time spent on each, and a random per-session ID. Used only for aggregate usage stats (e.g. "how many users opened the report page"). No mouse tracking, no scroll heatmaps, no third-party analytics.

What we don't store

  • No IP address logs, no browser fingerprinting.
  • No third-party analytics, ad pixels, or click trackers.
  • No data sold or shared with third parties.

Why we keep it

Two reasons. First, to generate your personal reports. Second, during the beta we look at aggregate patterns across all users (e.g. average weekly volume, typical easy/hard split, archetype distribution) so we can improve the methodology. Aggregate analysis never identifies individuals.

Heart rate and pace data is treated as health data — we store it because the reports depend on it, and we don't share it with anyone.

Deleting your data

Open the app, go to Settings and use "Delete all my data". That wipes your workouts, reports, Strava connection, profile, and the anonymous user itself. It's immediate and irreversible.

Retention

We keep beta data for as long as the browser keeps using the app. After the beta ends we'll either help you migrate to a real account or delete inactive beta users.
